Acrylic Painting


ALTERNATIVE TOOLS IN PAINTING
Instructor: Declan Halpin
Ability level: all levels
Redefine the tools used in painting; shoes soles, combs and credit cards all yield unique results not achieved with traditional brushes and palette knives. With an emphasis on acrylic painting, you will learn how to create and manipulate tools for specific applications. A background with 3-D arts such as sculpture is helpful but not necessary.
All materials are provided.

COLOR MIXING
Instructor: Declan Halpin
Ability level: all levels
De-mystify the techniques of color mixing. You'll end the frustration of a muddy palette and become familiar will the tools and terminology to mix color with confidence. Throughout the workshop you will discuss hue, chroma and value, pigments, transparency and glazing, monochromatic and analogous palettes, as well as contrast-how to achieve it and avoid it.
All materials are provided.

SILK SCARVES TO DYE FOR!
Instructor: Rhonda Fazio
Ability level: all levels
Use natural dyes from plants and vegetables and special folding techniques to create hand dyed scarves for the holidays. You will receive two silk scarves to dye. Please bring latex gloves, an apron and dress to dye. Additional silk pieces will be available to purchase the day of class.

THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF ENAMELS
Instructor: Dianne Reilly
Ability level: beginner to intermediate
Explore the colorful world of enamels! Enameling, the technique of fusing colored glass powder onto a metal surface under high heat, is a favorite method for jewelers to add color to their work. During this three day workshop you will discover and explore the fundamental techniques of enameling. By combining pattern, color and metal you will create your own one of a kind pieces of colored jewelry.

WEAR ART: FASHION IN MIXED MEDIA
Instructor: Renee Monteiro
Ability level: all levels
Create wearable art with natural and synthetic materials; bark, flowers and shells, or paper clips, washers and roofing paper. You'll create jewelry and other wearable fashion through researching styles and the history of fashion, and by manipulating form and texture.

No registration necessary, just drop in and create exciting art!
Create a different exciting craft project with Sandra Barrett each
week. This workshop is fun for kids in grades K-4. Preschool children are welcome with parental accompaniment. We ask that you arrive five minutes early to check in.
