Chunghie Lee

Chunghie Lee: My Cup Overflows

Sunday July 19, 2009 1pm

A Conversation with Chungie Lee. Korean-born fiber artist, Chunghie Lee, has been strongly influenced by the Korean wrapping cloths called Pojagi. Her powerful installation references the anonymous, ancient women who, during the Choson Dynasty, created these functional works of art. Large panels of draped silk, hemp and linen –embellished with images of Korean woman and other symbols of the past –are simultaneously contemporary in their graphic nature. Lee’s works connect past and present.

Members/Students: $7 • Non-members: $10.

The C-Word Road Show

In some creative and artistic circles it’s a bad word, in others it’s absolutely essential. Join us for a spirited discussion about the C-word — craft. Fuller Craft Museum, New England’s home for contemporary craft, along with the Artisanry Department, College of Visual & Performing Arts UMass Dartmouth presents a roundtable panel discussion that looks at craft in the context of contemporary academia, theory, and practice / making. Bring friends and prepare for an amazing discussion!

The C-Word Roadshow wrapped up its succesful Spring Tour on May 10, 2009 at Fuller Craft Musuem. We are planning to add additional dates in the future so that we can continue this important dialogue.

If you, your college, university or craft organization is interested in hosting a future stop on the C-Word Roadshow please contact our Fuller Craft's education department at 508.588.6000 x113.
