An Evening with Marjorie
Durko Puryear

Join us as artist Majorie Durko
Puryear shares her work inspired by antique diaries, letters, address
books, and ledgers. The artist creates works that honor the simplicity
of these handwritten records as she reveals the beauty of these documents,
written by ordinary people in simple circumstances of every day life.
Fuller Craft Museum presents Marjorie Durko Puryear:Woven Notes and Memorabilia,
on view in Fuller Craft Museum's Courtyard Gallery from March 15,2008 through
July 20,2008
This presentation is part of the Fuller Craft Museum's "Free Wednesday
Nights" programming. Every Wednesday 5 to 9 pm admission is free.

Fiber Arts: From Fashion to Installation
Wednesday, May 28 • 10:30am
Elizabeth
Bentley's work in fiber is inspired by the complexity of patterns formed
by numerous layers of hand manipulated machine-knitted fabric, in conjunction
with the translucency of hand dyed silk organza. Elizabeth will speak
about the transition of her work from ready-to-wear clothing and knitwear
to contemporary installation artwork, wearable art and modern dance
costumes. Elizabeth is currently a graduate student in the Master of
Fine Arts in Artisanry in Fiber program at UMass Dartmouth. She is
also an adjunct faculty member of Apparel Design at Rhode Island School
of Design.
